Majorca – just a hop, skip and a jump away. A mere two-hour flight enabled us to reach Palma Airport and meet our leader, George Wright. Shortly after, we were warmly welcomed into the south-western side of San Telmo and were immediately thrilled at its walking possibilities.

We arrived in Zernez for our skiing trip in the freezing dark and walked from the station to our hotel, wondering when we’d arrive. Suddenly, there it was: beautifully floodlit with lights in the trees, a welcoming sight typical of the place that would be our home for a week.

The highlight of this cruise and walk holiday (apart from the excellent company and superb food on our Ship Balmoral) was the walk on Mount Teide on Tenerife. Whilst in the Canaries we were blessed with beautiful warm sunny days without a cloud in the sky (at least where we happened to be).
