Botswana Walking Holidays

Walking holidays to Botswana offer something for every type of rambler, with plenty of immersive hiking and walking opportunities showcasing the great outdoors, from the expansive Kalahari Desert to the tabletop rocks and hillier country. Wildlife lovers will enjoy spotting lions, tigers and elephants when visiting national parks in Botswana, where you can see these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Botswana is home to many natural wonders, where you can watch the tumbling Victoria Falls, venture down the captivating Okavango Delta, or spot the enchanting Big Five game during a visit to Chobe National Park. When in Botswana, a traditional mokoro boat ride down the Okavango Delta is a peaceful way to experience the grasslands and wildlife inhabiting this winding river. You can even watch hippos submerge in the water, and antelope galloping amongst the grasslands.

Alternatively, a trip to Bakota Gorge is the perfect place to sculpt an idea of the unique terrain and geographical features of Botswana, where you can admire the zig zag crags and chasms created by the mighty Victoria Falls; offering a truly spectacular sight. Walkers will be accompanied by our expert leaders during their trip, too, who will share their local knowledge on each trail and breathtaking sight you come across.

Leisurely

Grade 3

We still class this level as leisurely; walks are generally a little longer than level 2, with undulations but over a longer distance. Where sightseeing distances are longer, we take a full day with opportunities to stop, rest and refuel. Generally, itineraries involve easy countryside walking with plenty of breaks.
