Meticulously curated, guided walking holiday itineraries that delve into the culture, wildlife, cuisine, and rich history of the world.
Overview
Imagine a place where soaring snow-capped mountains rise above lush valleys, where bears and moose roam and where glacial lakes sparkle. This is the Canadian Rockies. Incredible walking trails, wildlife experiences and tremendous views await. Some people spend their lives searching for the perfect mountain escape; we are sure you will find it in Canada.
Throughout this trip you have the services of a full qualified national driver/guide and a Ramble Worldwide leader for extra support. Learn all about the strange plants and wildlife that call the Canadian parks network home. When you’re enjoying supersize landscapes, it's great to have someone who understands the lay of the land and can share their experiences with you.
Beginning in the buzzing metropolis of Vancouver, everyone’s favourite city, your sightseeing includes a look at Stanley Park with a view of the city skyline and to observe the totem poles. Next you board the scenic ferry to Vancouver Island where you hit the trails around Sooke and join an Orca-viewing boat trip in search of these magnificent mammals. It has been said that Victoria is the finest place to see them.
Back on the mainland, you take a gondola to the peak of Whistler Mountain for walks with immense views. In lesser explored Revelstoke you can enjoy a walking programme and vineyard wine tasting before reaching Lake Louise, your home for exploring perhaps the most dramatic Rockies scenery.
No trip to the Rockies is complete without driving the Ice Fields Parkway. You’ll need your camera fully charged for this day as every twist and turn of the road serves up unforgettable views. Your last main stop is the town of Banff, which draws in the visitors and for good reason. Here you have a series of walks planned to make the best use of the time here. On the final day there is some free time in Banff before transferring to Calgary Airport for the flight home.

British Citizens don’t usually need a visa to visit Canada for short periods. If you have a different type of British nationality or intend to travel for a longer period, check entry requirements with the Canadian High Commission. When you arrive you will need to be able to show that you have enough funds available to support yourself during your stay.
Under Canada’s Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) program, citizens from countries other than the United States (U.S.) who do not need a visa to enter Canada, will need to obtain an online authorization before flying to Canada, unless otherwise exempted. |THE ETA IS ONLY CURRENTLY REQUIRED IF YOU ARE FLYING INTO CANADA| - IF YOU ARE ARRIVING OVERLAND THEN IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT.
The application process is quick and easy at a low cost of only $7 Canadian dollars and will be valid for up to five years. The earlier travellers get their eTA, the sooner they will benefit from knowing whether they have been pre-screened to enter Canada. eTA is a convenient authorisation that is electronically linked to a traveller’s passport, which means travellers will need to travel with the same passport they used when they applied for and obtained their eTA.
To find out |more information and to apply|, visit https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/eta.html
Please ensure that you have completed the eTA form online if you are arriving by air.
All your breakfasts and ten lunches are included along with four evening meals which will be in local restaurants. On other evenings there is the opportunity to dine out with your fellow travellers or by yourselves as you prefer. Your leader will be happy to suggest a restaurant for these evenings. You can expect to pay around £25-£30 including tax and 15% service charge for three courses.
The hotel(s) listed within this document are examples of standard only. Heart and Sole
We appreciate that we are in a fortunate position to be able to use our profits to help make a difference to people's lives. Heart & Sole is a venture managed by our office staff, whose aim is to reach the heart of the communities in the countries we visit. Through Heart & Sole, we hope to make more of a long term, direct impact to these communities, particularly in less developed countries where even a small amount goes a long way. See our website for more information and details of some of the projects we support.

Kindly share a mobile phone contact number with us. We'll utilize this solely for crucial communication pertaining to your holiday arrangements.

In consideration of others, we request that you switch off your mobile phone during walks or try to limit its usage. Additionally, during group meals, please minimize the use of mobile devices. Your cooperation ensures a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone on the journey.
