Walking Holidays in Switzerland

On our walking holidays in Switzerland, roam through the luscious flower-filled meadows surrounding quintessential chocolate-box timber villages of the Swiss Alps.

Travel by cable car up mighty snow-dusted peaks, marvelling at the vistas of coniferous forests and arête ridges. Hike around azure mineral gorges to fresh spring pastures and cornflower blue lakes blossoming with pink and yellow orchids

Look out for sure-footed mountain goats clambering across gnarly crags as we cross the Schanfigg Valley, taking in the magnificent alpine mountain views from the Langwiesser Aussicht. We’ll stop off at the colourful hamlets of Chüpfen and Dörfli before riding the Madrisa Gondola high above emerald valleys of vivid wildflowers and ice-blue mirrored lakes.

Visit the enchanting village of Kanderstag, set at the foot of the beautiful Kander valley. Hear Swiss cowbells ring out in fresh alpine meadows before walking the Gemmi pass to reach heights of over 2,200m at the Daubensee. Switzerland walking holidays make all of this possible, and we hope you will join us.

Why visit Switzerland on a walking holiday?

Hikers looking for a challenge will relish the opportunity to take on our Tour Du Mont Blanc. Considered one of the world’s greatest walks, you can expect panoramic views across Chamonix Valley and Mirage Glacier as we circumnavigate the world’s tallest mountain.

Or experience Switzerland in the thick of winter on our holiday package to the quaint alpine village of Kandersteg, deep in the Bernese Oberland. With charming log chalets dating back to the Middle Ages, this peaceful and unspoilt resort offers breathtaking views overlooking the glistening Oeschinen glacier lake.

Forged over 65 million years of tectonic shift and glacial activity, the Swiss Alps offer some of the world’s most picturesque scenery. From the solitary peak of Mont Blanc, to gushing subterranean waterfalls, tranquil glacier gardens, and rolling wildflower meadows; Switzerland’s majestic landscape lends itself to magnificent walking trails.

Indulge in Local Cuisine

Indulge in Switzerland's world-famous cuisine as we stop by artisanal chocolate shops and remote, yodelling cheesemongers high up in the Alps. Sample fresh local cheeses the traditional way over a candle-lit fondue or wood-fired melted raclette.

Enjoy reliable Swiss transport

Travel with ease across the region on reliable Swiss transport. Local travel cards are included in the holiday price of your walking holiday in Switzerland and will allow you to hop on or off whenever suits you for easy access. Glide past immense crystal waterfalls and sharp fissured gorges above the pine-spruce treetops, as you sweep across the sky in a cable car, or roll through tunnelling mountains by train.
