What does this mean?
Overview
If you are looking at this one week holiday why not make your stay two weeks by joining us on our Grisons' Alps holiday.
Arosa offers all the essential elements for an ideal Alpine holiday. Our clients cherish their memories of Arosa from over two decades ago, as this charming village remains largely unchanged. Situated between 1700m and 1800m, Arosa presents a stunning starting point for walks through wooded terrains, leading to expansive alpine meadows surrounded by panoramic peaks, creating a paradise for flower enthusiasts with abundant orchids and diverse blooms.
The allure of the region extends beyond the towering peaks to the remote valleys and picturesque villages like Tschiertchen, Maran, and Medergen, nestled atop the Schanfigg Valley with chalets and barns. The vast, beautiful grassy ridges and flower meadows above Langwies offer an exquisite experience. You'll find over 120 miles of scenic trails to explore in this area.
Transportation is typically Swiss, with Arosa marking the end of a spectacular train line that opens up walks from traditional alpine villages between Arosa and Chur in the valley below. Cable cars in the village transport you to altitudes exceeding 2000m, granting access to mountain peaks and ridges. The Arosa card, included in the holiday cost, provides complimentary local transport and discounts at various attractions.
A leisurely path from the village is frequented by black squirrels, marmots, and a profusion of flowers, particularly in June. Our first departure in June is the perfect opportunity to explore the area and revel in its floral wonders
