This renowned white village, situated within the Axarquia region, boasts a rich Moorish history. Competa thrives as a lively farming town, renowned for its bountiful harvests of almonds, olives, avocados, and even its very own wine. The town's old quarter is a charming hub featuring two 18th-century chapels, San Sebastian and San Anton, while the magnificent 16th-century Church of Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion commands attention with its towering belfry, gracing the Plaza Almijara, Competa' s central square and focal point.
